Carl F Bucherer set to increase presence
Online sales for luxury watches across the industry would rise from the current 2 per cent to 10 per cent in 5 years: Lecamp
Hyderabad: Despite e-commerce revolutionising how people buy goods, luxury watch brand, Carl F. Bucherer, will continue to bet on offline point of sales as it looks to increase its presence to 18 in Ethos stores across India by 2020 end.
Speaking to this newpaper, Carl F. Bucherer’s Executive Vice-President (sales) Laurent Lecamp confirmed that the brand plans to increase its point of sales to 18 inside Ethos stores. However, when asked about nearly one third of sales in luxury goods would come from online channels by 2025, Mr Lecamp said, “Online sales for luxury watches across the industry would rise from the current 2 per cent to 10 per cent in 5 years.”
Mr Lecamp added, “In terms of the brand, we are working closely with Ethos website to increase our digital presence. The feedback from our customers has been positive. Moreover, we are witnessing a rise in sales from online channels as customers are willing to buy a watch without even touching the product.”
When pressed further, Mr Lecamp said that the trend of researching for luxury goods online and then buying the “experience” from offline channels will continue despite new tech.
