New Delhi: Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India is looking at a 20 per cent growth in two-wheeler sales during the forthcoming festive season. "Earlier, we were little conservative with the outlook but now we expect sales growth of over 20 per cent in the festive season," HMSI Senior President, Sales and Marketing, Y S Guleria told reporters here.

With the company's Gujarat plant poised to go full steam by September-end, it hopes to reduce pressure on deliveries during the festive season, he added. The company also plans to begin operations of a third line at its Bengaluru plant by middle of next year.

"It will take our total installed production capacity to 6.4 million units by the middle of next year," Guleria said. He said the firm plans to add 800 sales points this year.

"Over 90 per cent of these outlets are coming up in tier II and III towns. We are inching closer to last mile in terms of our presence," Guleria said. The company plans to have around 5,400 outlets in the country by March 2017.
