“In light of rising input costs and operational expenses, the company has planned to increase the prices of its cars from January, 2025. The price increase is expected to be up to four per cent and will vary depending on the model,” Maruti Suzuki said in a filing to stock exchanges.
While the company continuously strives to optimize costs and minimize the impact on its customers, some portion of the increased cost may need to be passed on to the market, it said.
Hyundai, the Korean car maker, said it would increase prices across its model range effective from January 1 and the price increase has been necessitated owing to an increase in input costs, adverse exchange rate and increase in logistics costs.
This price increase will be done across models and the extent of increase will be up to Rs 25,000, the company said.
“We are implementing a price adjustment of up to three per cent effective from January 1 due to rising input costs. This correction is essential for Audi India and our dealer partners to ensure sustainable growth,” Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head of Audi India, said.
