New Delhi: The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Post Graduate (Neet-PG) 2024 is likely to be held in mid-August. The revised date for the medical entrance exam is expected to be announced this week. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, senior officials of the information technology and health ministries held a high-level meeting with the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), a wing under the Union home ministry, to find ways to plug paper leaks and to ensure a full-proof system.

According to the sources, a meeting was held in the Union home ministry on Monday, during which officials from the health ministry, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), along with its technical partner Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and information technology ministry cyber cell officials discussed the preparedness for the Neet-PG exam, which are to be held online.

"Besides the Neet-PG, the meeting was held to evaluate the robustness of the system for the conduct of the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination, which is scheduled for July 6," a source said.

During the meeting, the "robustness" of the system was also checked for the conduct of the exams in the coming days, the sources added. It is learnt that the TCS top brass briefed the meeting about the various aspects of the exam procedure.

Meanwhile, according to sources, senior officials of information technology and health ministries held a high-level meeting on Tuesday with the I4C to find ways to plug any possibility of paper leaks and reportedly discussed various aspects of the examination, including finding ways to ensure a full proof system wherein question papers are downloaded just two hours before the test begins at all centres.

The meeting was attended by officials from the health ministry, NBEMS, along with its technical partner TCS and the IT ministry cyber cell.

According to sources, the Union home ministry, along with information technology and health ministries, are keeping a close watch on the entire matter involving paper leaks on a larger scale as the CBI investigations are underway.

On June 22, the Union health ministry postponed the Neet-PG entrance examination, scheduled to be held on June 23, as a "precautionary measure" in the wake of allegations about the integrity of certain competitive exams.

The health ministry had said it will undertake a thorough assessment of the robustness of the processes of the Neet-PG, conducted by the NBEMS along with its technical partner TCS for medical students.
