Mumbai: Ireland captain William Porterfield has no concern over sharing the world record with the Australian batsman Aaron Finch. Both non-Test playing openers share the world record of registering the highest number of centuries (7) in ODIs.

Finch's last ODI ton came in the fourth ODI against India on Wednesday (Manuka Oval, Canberra).

Speaking from Australia, despite the Ireland team busy focusing completely on their Inter Continental Cup fixture with PNG, Porterfield says,

No, it is not of any concern to me that the record is now equalled. In fact, congratulations to Aaron Finch on a fantastic start to his career. I am sure that if he keeps performing how he is (now) then he will fulfil every Australian cricketer’s dream of wearing the Baggie green," he said.

Porterfield also believes that his record may not last long. "As for myself and Ireland, we too hope to play Test cricket in the near future so that records like these will become obsolete to us," the 32-year-old left-handed batsman said.

Porterfield has scored 2460 runs in 84 ODIs where as Finch's 2072 runs have come in 56 ODIs.
