Bengaluru: 2 drunk youth creating nuisance handed over to public, thrashed

Bengaluru: An irate mob not only gave a sound thrashing to two drunk youngsters, who were creating a nuisance in RPC Layout in front of Vijayanagar Club, but also set their bikes on fire on Tuesday night at around 10.30 pm.
The two youngsters, Rajesh and Prajwal, both in their twenties and from Vijayanagar. While Prajwal worked as a salesman at a footwear shop, Rajesh was an unemployed B.Com graduate. They were uncontrollable after a drinking binge at a bar in Vijayanagar. They rode their bike to RPC Layout, parked it on the middle of the road and created a scene. One of them even assaulted a passerby with his helmet.
Area residents and some people from the club gathered and when they caught hold of the duo, one of the youngsters whipped out a knife. The mob, infuriated by the brazenness of the two youngsters, gave them a sound thrashing. Not satisfied with it, they also set the bike on fire.
The area turned tense as some of the residents thought that the two youth had been lynched. A few shop owners informed the police who rushed to the spot and took custody of the two youth. Vijayanagar police have registered a case of assault and nuisance and have arrested Rajesh and Prajwal.
