Persons connected with the kidney racket approached him and asked him to sell his kidney to recoup a part of the money.
Khammam: The kidney racket took a new twist on Wednesday after the arrest of four persons in the Muvva Naresh case.
Cricket betting led to the selling of Naresh’s kidney. Naresh, who was searching for a job, gave Rs 2 lakh to Nerella Ramesh and Sarikasula Javed Hussain, who promised to provide him a job through a consultant company.
The duo issued a fake appointment letter to him and disappeared.
Later, two persons Bharat Kumar and Bhadri Nageswara Reddy met Naresh and explained to him about cricket betting. They said that lakhs can be earned through cricket betting.
Naresh, who fell into their trap, borrowed money from his father to pay for computer courses. Naresh’s father Muvva Subba Rao, who thought that his son required money to join the computer course, used to send the money asked by his son.
Naresh invested about Rs 8 lakh in cricket betting and lost the amount. Then, persons connected with the kidney racket approached him and convinced him to sell his kidney.
The four, N. Ramesh, Javed Hussain, Bharat Kumar and Bhadri Nageswara Reddy were taken into custody by the Dammapet police. Sattupalli DSP Kavita said that investigation is going on.
