Guest faculty of JNTU varsity stalks MBA student, booked

Hyderabad: A former guest faculty of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) in Anantapur district was booked on Wednesday for allegedly harassing and threatening a woman MBA graduate and her family, police said.
In a complaint lodged with the police, the 24-year-old woman alleged that one Susheel Kumar had been stalking her since she joined JNTU a year ago, Kadiri Police Station Circle Inspector K Srinivas said.
Kumar had developed a friendship with the woman and proposed her several times but she did not reciprocate, the CI said over phone.
"Kumar went to her house in Kadiri town and threatened her and her parents with dire consequences if she was not married to him. Kumar also threatened her that he will post her morphed obscene photos online," the Inspector said.
A case was registered under relevant sections of the IPC and the Nirbhaya Act on charges of criminal intimidation, attempt to outrage her modesty.
