No poll alliance with BJP so far, says Thushar Vellappally
Mr Thushar Vellappally, who is also vice-president of SNDP Yogam, was made the president of the BDJS.
Alappuzha: The Bharat Dharma Jana Sena (BDJS) floated by SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan has not conducted any talks with the BJP for an alliance in the forthcoming Assembly elections. This was made clear by Thushar Vellappally, the newly-elected president of the BDJS, who added that the party would be happy to ally with any front which helps it.
He told DC that the party had no enmity towards any party or front in the state. "We have no qualms about either Pinarayi Vijayan or Oommen Chandy becoming the next chief minister. There is a desperate campaign to make us ally with the BJP. But no such talks have been held," he said.
Responding to a query, he said that social justice would be the prime slogan of the party. "Our party is in its infancy. The real power of the party will be known only in the future," he said.
Mr Thushar Vellappally, who is also vice-president of SNDP Yogam, was made the president of the BDJS on Tuesday after a high-level meeting at Cherthala. Mancheri Bhaskara Pillai and Akkeramon Kalidasa Bhattathiri are the vice-presidents. T. V. Babu and Subash Vasu were elected general secretaries and A. J. Thankappan treasurer.
