Vellappally Natesan plans to beat BJP in numbers game
The SNDP Yogam general secretary told DC that the party would have 10 lakh membership in the next one-and-a-half months.
Thiruvananthapuram: The BJP cannot count on Vellappally Natesan's Bharat Dharma Jana Sena to open its account in the coming Assembly elections as his primary aim is to strengthen his party's base in the state. The SNDP Yogam general secretary told DC that the party would have 10 lakh membership in the next one-and-a-half months and another 15 lakh later overtaking the BJP's 22- lakh force.
After Mr Natesan announced the party structure on Tuesday, the BJP has felt uncomfortable as he has said that his party was open for discussions with all the three major political parties in the state. A prominent RSS leader told DC that if Mr Natesan manages to garner some seats, he would be open to joining hands with the LDF or the UDF.
"The BJP must realise what the BDJS plans are as the former will try to dictate terms to it. Yogam vice-president Thushar Vellapally has said that Ezhava community is a strong force with 25 per cent of the total Hindu votes rebutting the BJP's claim of 25 lakh membership," said an RSS leader.
