Bengaluru: When most bureaucrats would lap up the media attention, Karnataka’s top babu, Arvind Jadhav, is just the opposite — he’s media shy! To put it bluntly, he runs in the opposite direction when confronted by the media, for reasons best known to him!

Mr Jadhav was in sprint mode again on Wednesday, this time walking into another wall of cameras when he was trying to avoid doing just that!   
Mr Jadhav emerged from the door next to the press room and on seeing a battery of mediapersons, stepped back into the meeting hall from where he took another door next to Energy Minister D.K. Shivakumar's chamber to reach his office.  

Last week, Mr Jadhav sprinted away from reporters after he failed to attend a meeting of parliamentarians. A delegation headed by Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker Thambidurai was in Vidhana Soudha on that day and left in a huff because of his absence.  When the media tried to reach him he shut himself away in his chamber.  

The only saving grace this time is that he kept his date with the Chief Minister - to discuss utilization of grants meant for SC/STs, at Vidhana Soudha - and no cameras caught the Chief Secretary on the run!
