After 26 years, dogs to be at R-Day parade
1,200 Labradors and German Shepherds, have selected 36 canines to march down the Rajpath with their handlers.
New Delhi: Indian army sniffer dogs, who have saved the lives of numerous soldiers in counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations, will march down the Rajpath for Republic Day Parade on January 26 after a gap of 26 years, according to news agency reports.
The Army, which has about 1,200 Labradors and German Shepherds, have selected 36 canines to march down the Rajpath with their handlers.
Meanwhile, for the first time, the Indian Army would be conducting one of the largest multi-national military exercises in Pune in March which will see participation of 18 ASEAN Plus countries.
The field training exercise will see participation of over 360 personnel and its theme will be based on humanitarian mine action.
