Arrested suspects taken to Delhi, money baffles cops
They were produced at the special court for NIA cases in the city on Saturday.
Hyderabad: The four terror suspects arrested from Hyderabad for ISI links and the explosives seized from them, were produced at the special court for NIA cases in the city on Saturday. The suspects were later flown to New Delhi.
Of the 14 picked up across the country on Friday, five were arrested formally on Friday and eight others on Saturday by the NIA. All the suspects were flown to New Delhi on transit warrants.
From the city, Mohammed Nafees Khan alias Abu Zarrar, 24, and Mohammed Shareef Moinuddin Khan, 54, an electrician from Tolichowki, were arrested on Friday.
Mohammed Obaidullah Khan alias Talha, 33, of Tolichowki and Abu Anas, 27, from Rajasthan and resident of Ayyappa Society, Madhapur, were arrested on Saturday.
The police is baffled by the Rs 3 lakh seized from the suspects. The NIA found another Rs 20 lakh in the account of prime suspect Musthaq of Mumbai. The NIA is tracking the money trail of Hyderabad-based Nafees Khan.
Sources said that NIA has identified 15 more persons linked to ISIS across the country, including three in Hyderabad. Investigators believe that malls and places of worship were the targets of the suspects.
Those who were formally arrested on Saturday were Syed Mujahid, 33, of Tumkuru, Mohammad Aleem, 20, of Lucknow; Asif Ali alias Arman Saani, 21, of Bengaluru; Suhail Ahmed alias Sohail alias Hafes Saab, 23, of Bengaluru; Muhammad Abdul Ahad alias Bade Amir alias Sulaiman, 46, of Bengaluru and Hussain Khan alias Jamil, 36, of Mazgaon, Mumbai.
