Air India flight to Milan makes emergency landing due to smoke in cabin

The flight had 130 passengers aboard when the flight crew reported smoke coming out of a cabin, following which the flight was turned back.

New Delhi: An Air India flight traveling from New Delhi to Milan had to turn back on Tuesday after smoke was reported inside the cabin.

The Milan-bound flight made an emergency landing at the Indira Gandhi International airport in New Delhi, says Air India spokesperson.

The flight had 130 passengers aboard when the flight crew reported smoke coming out of a cabin, following which the flight was turned back. The flight had taken off for Milan at 3 pm on Tuesday.

No casualties have been reported so far. Passengers are being transferred to another aircraft and are expected to leave the airport shortly, says Air India Spokesperson.
