Only 50 out of 1,000 Andhra Pradesh doctors got transferred
The Kamalanathan committee has done injustice to the doctors of Telangana.
Hyderabad: Only 50 doctors from Andhra Pradesh have been transferred to Andhra Pradesh while 350 retained in Telangana raising a hue and cry among Telangana doctors on Wednesday.
The Andhra Pradesh Re-Organisation committee's tentative list on health and medical education was submitted by the government where the doctors have found major discrepancies.
Dr C Ramesh of Telangana Government Doctors Association explained, “All the heads of department, senior positions are occupied by senior doctors from Andhra Pradesh and they have been retained. These doctors have got fake certificates to show that they studied in Telangana. The Kamalnathan committee has done injustice to the doctors of Telangana."
The list was prepared for 5,328 doctors. The ratio for Telangana was 48 per cent. With 350 doctors being retained the number will be reduced.
Dr Manish Kumar explained, "We tend to loose as positions in Telangana are reduced."
