All set for SSC exams in AP from Monday

VIJAYAWADA: A total of 6.64 lakh students in Andhra Pradesh will appear for their secondary school certificate (SSC) public examinations and OSSC regular/supplementary exams between 9:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. from Monday, April 3, to April 18 at 3,349 centres throughout the state.

According to government examinations director D. Devananda Reddy, no student will be allowed into the exam centre after 9:30 a.m. The SSC exams will be held in seven languages – Telugu, English, Kannada, Tamil, Hindi, Urdu and Odia.

As many as 6,09,070 students have registered to appear for SSC regular exams, 3,11,329 of them boys and 2,97,741 girls. A large number of students from the Anantapur, Kurnool and Prakasam districts have registered for the exams. Comparatively, only a few have registered from Parvathipuram Manyam, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Bapatla districts.

A control room has been set up at the Directorate of Government Examinations in Vijayawada with its telephone number being 0866-2974540. District-level control rooms have also been set up in the offices of DEOs in all 26 districts. They will work 24 hours a day.

Students are not permitted to carry any electronic gadgets into the exam centres. No one, including the chief superintendent of examinations, will be allowed to carry mobile phones into the examination centres. Other gadgets, such as laptops, tablets, cameras, smart watches and Bluetooth devices, are also prohibited.

Arrangements have been made to detect any leak of question papers on social media platforms before and during the examination. Stern action will be initiated against those who resort to such malpractices, an official stated.
