3-day global meet at Kakatiya University from June 27

 WARANGAL: A three-day international conference on ‘Plant Bio-technology and Genome editing’ will be conducted from June 27 to 29 by the Bio-technology department in association with the Welfare Group of Aberystwyth University of United Kingdom here at Senate Hall in Kakatiya University, said vice-chancellor Prof. T. Ramesh speaking to the media persons in a press meet held on the campus in Hanamkonda on Monday.

On the inauguration day, Prof. Srinivas Chandrasegaran of John Hopkins University. United States of America will deliver a speech at the event, which will be attended by Prof. Jennifer Ann Harikrishna of the University of Malaysia as special chief guest.

The conference will be eight lecture sessions in total and each session will have three speakers along with the lectures of several professors from various prominent universities present within the country and from abroad.

Professors Huw Jones, Luis Mur and Dylan Phillips of Aberystwyth University, Prof. M.G.K. Jones from Murdoch University of Australia and Prof.

Prakash P. Kumar from Singapore National University will participate in the event, where a total of 120 research papers will be presented, of which the best poster, and best overall presentation will be selected along with presenting the awards.

Prof A. Sadanandam will be the chairman of the conference and Prof. N. Ramaswamy will be the co-chairman and the convenors will be Dr A.V. Rao, Dr P. Srinivas and Dr T. Shastri for the event, he added.
