Visakhapatnam: Andhra University vice chancellor P.V.G.D. Prasada Reddy  urged students to capitalise on the remarkable opportunities available to them during the inauguration of the commencement programme at the AU convention centre on Saturday.

The event organised by AU Engineering College in collaboration with Women’s Engineering College, served as a platform to underscore the significance of nurturing creative ideas and innovation alongside the primary objective of securing employment.

A surge in opportunities was witnessed for students specialising in computer science and information technology. In fields such as mechanical engineering, marine engineering, instrumentation, civil engineering and architecture, students have successfully secured three to four job offers highlighting the thriving job market in these sectors.

VC Reddy underscored the importance of dedication to studies considering the rapidly expanding technical landscape in today’s society. AU’s commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship was evident as it currently hosts 124 companies at its E-hub, a hub of innovation and industry collaboration.

He emphasised that students with innovative ideas and a passion for discovery can translate their visions into tangible outcomes through initiatives like the E-Hub. Such efforts, he noted, provide holistic support to students in various fields of engineering at AU, shaping them into the innovators and leaders of tomorrow.
