Mumbai: Indian TV actress Pratyusha Banerjee, widely known for her portrayal of Anandi in soap opera Balika Vadhu, killed herself on Friday.
Pratyusha reportedly attempted suicide earlier in the day and was instantly rushed to Kokilaben Hospital, Mumbai where she was declared dead.
The 24-year-old actress reportedly hung herself at her residence. Reports suggest that the actress was stressed due to some ongoing emotional trouble in her love life. The actress was reportedly depressed over her relationship with her boyfriend, Rahul Raj Singh, whom she was set to marry soon.
Pratyusha Banerjee, who rose to fame with her performance as Anandi Shivraj Shekhar in TV show ‘Balika Vadhu’, went on to participate in reality shows like ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5’, ‘Bigg Boss 7’, ‘Comedy Classes’ and many more.
Pratyusha's name featured in controversy recently after she alleged that she was molested by eight men posing as cops.
The actress and her boyfriend also made headlines for their outstanding dues over her lavish birthday party.
