When Shah Rukh Khan called out Sara Ali Khan’s name among the list of newcomers who made a debut in the industry at a recently concluded film awards, his fans went frenzy. Responding to him,  the Simmba actress called Shah Rukh ‘uncle’ which did not sit well with SRK fans.

It so happened that the actress, while speaking to the host on the red carpet said, “My father used to host Filmfare with Shah Rukh uncle and I used to love it.”

Although an innocent statement from the 23-year-old, was miscontrued by the Twitterat as they suggested she should have called SRK as ‘sir’ instead of ‘uncle’. But, Sara’s fans were not far behind. One Twitterati wrote, “What would children address their parents’ colleagues? Uncle/aunty, sir/madad.. Its surprising that SRK’s fans are trolling Sara Ali Khan for addressing SRK as uncle at Filmfare awards. Are fans denying basic manners & etiquettes to their favourite stars and star kids? (sic)”

In other news, Sara won the award for best Female Debut for her film Kedarnath at the same award show.
