Deepika Padukone is probably the most politically correct actress you will come across. So this latest controversy involving her comes as a rude shock. Apparently the Bengaluru bred star complained to the media in Mumbai that she was not allowed to park her car in the Pali Hill building Cozy Home where she has rented out a flat.

Deepika used to love in this apartment complex before she moved to the more luxurious apartment in Prabhadevi in 2011. Not one to take things lying down, the Cozy Home residents have decided to share their version with the press. Madhu Poplai, secretary of the PHRA (Pali Hill Residents Association)  has erxpressed her displeasure to a Mumbai based website.

“I am shocked that Deepika has decided to go public over a minor of opinion ,which is definitely not a dispute. I call her beta in almost every sentence I speak to her, and she threatened to  drag me to Court?” pointed out an enraged Poplai.

So what went so drastically wrong? “ Deepika called to say that she wanted to park her car in our compound as she owns a flat here. I explained to her that it is not possible to do so because as per rules if a flat owner leaves his flat for more than eight months, he/she cannot park his/her car in our premises. Moreover, if they have a tenant staying in their flat now, then he/she must possess a car which Deepika's tenant does not. She got worked up that  and told me me that she would see me in Court and I responded by saying so would I,” says Poplai.

The lady is upset with Deepika’s high handed behaviour where the actress is apparently said to have called her Madhu in a disrespectful manner.

Sources close to the actress claim that the building society has not been good to her. Poplai vehemently refutes the claim.  “ This is false news. We gave her special permission to use the terrace for her yoga and also our lawn for her gym activities.”

To get back to the parking controversy, Deepika has apparently not visited her old apartment complex in the recent past. “She has has not visited Cozy Home since the last six to eight months. She should prove it that she drove in and we did not allow her to park.”

The question on everyone’s mind is, why does Deepika  need to park her car her old building? Ashok Rang, who is the secretary of a building in the neighbourhood) confirms that he was present during Deepika’s conversation with Poplai, “I was there when she called. Deepika needlessly flared up. I am guessing that Deepika has many cars and not that many parking spaces in her Prabhadevi building."

Well, well, these not-so friendly neighbourhood spats do happen sometimes, we hope that Deepika (who is allegedly maintaining a stoic silence now) resolves these issues with her old neighbours.
