Mumbai: Ranveer Singh has started prepping up for his next, Zoya Akhtar's ‘Gully Boy’, where he will be seen paired with Alia Bhatt. Ranveer, who is going to play a rapper in the movie, has already gotten into the skin of his character. He is seen rapping with some real-life rappers.
The actor praised his co-star Alia Bhatt by stating, “Also, it’s my first collaboration on a full-length feature film with Alia [Bhatt], who I rate very high as an actor. She is certainly among the best actors in today’s day-and-age. I believe she is on her way towards greatness.”
'Gully Boy' is expected to go on floors in this month.
Besides 'Gully Boy', Ranveer is waiting for the release Sanjay Leela Bhansali's much delayed 'Padmavati', Rohit Shetty's ‘Simmba’ and Kabir Khan's ‘'83’ which is a biopic based on cricketer Kapil Dev.
When asked if he feels a bit of pressure due to the exceeding expectations from his movies, Ranveer revealed, "I would not term it as ‘pressure’ as it has a negative connotation. I look at it as responsibility. And my first responsibility is towards people whose lives are directly connected with mine - my family, friends, team and fans, who contribute to my life in a direct way. I am answerable to them as well."
Speaking about Rohit Shetty’s ‘Simmba’, where Ranveer Singh will be seen playing a role of a cop, he said, “I am very excited about this film. I Want to make ‘Simmba’ Rohit Shetty’s best film, who is the King Kong of masala entertainers.”
Well, looks like Ranveer Singh is all set to own 2018 with the exciting line-up of films.
