Bipasha Basu big fat Bong wedding
Bipasha wore a red and gold lehenga instead of the typical Bengali red and white bridal wear.
Karan Singh Grover and Bipasha Basu have finally tied the knot. The much-awaited wedding ceremony took place on Saturday at a south Mumbai hotel in the presence of the couple’s family and friends, followed by a reception attended by the who’s who of Bollywood.
Bipasha wore a red and gold lehenga instead of the typical Bengali red and white bridal wear. Karan wore a white sherwani and made a grand entry riding a segway surrounded by a band playing the dhol. In keeping with her wish to get married according to Bengali rituals, Bipasha was brought to the ceremony on a piri or a wooden seat, covering her face with betel leaves.
Earlier in the day, the couple had a haldi ceremony. Guests at the reception included Amitabh Bachchan, Ashwariya Rai, Shah Rukh Khan, Malaika Arora Khan and Tabu among many others.
Salman was the last to drop by at around 1.30 am. The couple came downstairs to see off Salman and spoke to the media. “Salman is coming to my honeymoon,” said the bride in a jest. Salman took a dig at the third time groom and quipped, “The couple is very beautiful and I hope this marriage sustains — it is very important now.”
