Exclusive: Mohammad Azharuddin becomes third empire, suggests changes to Azhar
The cricketer had reservations towards few scenes which are now modified in the film.
Mumbai: Making a movie on someone’s life is a tedious task and if it’s Azhar, it only gets tougher. Director Tony D’Souza, who has the best rapport with the cricketer among the rest of the senior members, is now ready with the film. Trust the director who has spent maximum time with the cricket to extract the most important pieces of his life. The ones that have garnered eye balls over the years are his match fixing controversy and an affair with Sangeeta Bijlani.
Azhar has been involved in the making of the film from the start. In fact, when the final draft was being written, everything was sent to Azhar for his approval. A source reveals, “The script was sent to him and he went through them and signed every page of the draft.” This means that what is going to be shot, Azhar was already in the know.
However when Azhar saw some portions of the film he suggested few changes. What did he object to? A source reveals, “It was something to do with the match fixing bookies. Co-incidentally some names mentioned in the film were real names and Azhar wanted their names to be changed. There were other changes to it which the makers agreed to.”
Tony’s film is ready and will soon go to censor board for certification.
