Shashank Khaitan's Badrinath Ki Dulhania has been set against a rural backdrop up North.
Mumbai: 'Humpty' Varun Dhawan and his 'Dulhania' Alia Bhatt are back together for Shashank Khaitan's new film 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania'. In an interesting turn of events, producer Karan Johar unveiled the films' quirky motion poster.
According to reports, the story is set against a rural backdrop up North. Shashank, who began the recce early this year for the Karan Johar-production, has zeroed down on Kota and Jhansi.
The actors have been participating in reading workshops for a month now. The team have begun shooting for the film today (May 3).
Meanwhile, Varun and Alia have taken their excitement to the social media. Varun posted, "I hear the 1st ever love franchise is in the air! @dharmamovies @karanjohar @aliaa08 is that for real??" However, we wonder why the film has been tagged as '1st ever love franchise' as films like 'Aashiqui' have had successful sequels.
Varun and Alia will take a break to promote their films 'Dishoom' and 'Udta Punjab' respectively, after which they, along with Karan Johar and Sidharth Malhotra, will head to the US for a two-week musical tour.
'Badrinath Ki Dulhania' is all set to hit the screens on March 10, 2017.
