Mumbai: Veteran lyricist-writer Gulzar today avoided answering questions about the tensions between India and Pakistan at the border.

Gulzar, along with filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj, was present at the music launch of 'Motu Patlu: King of Kings'. He has written the lyrics for the film while the 'Haider' director has composed music.

When asked about the tension between the two nations (India and Pakistan), Gulzar, 82, told reporters, “Is this relevant to the programme for which we have come? Aap agar shaadi may jaayein, aur baat frontier ki karne lage, theek lagega? We should talk of Motu Patlu to the soldiers there? Be relevant to the occasion.”

In the wake of Uri attack, MNS threatened Pakistani artistes like Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan to leave India, failing which the shooting of their films would be stalled.

They also demanded a ban on Pakistani artists working in the Indian film industry.

Subsequently, IMPAA (Indian Motion Pictures’ Artists Association) came out with a resolution to ban all Pakistani artists and technicians till the situation is back to normal.
