Padmavati is not a female-oriented film: Shahid Kapoor
Shahid Kapoor talks about Padmavati, shares his ideas and speaks about his co-stars in a recent interview.
Mumbai: ‘Udta Punjab’ star Shahid Kapoor is gearing up to feature in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film, ‘Padmavati’, alongside Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. Earlier it was reported the film would be women-oriented and Deepika’s character would have more focus but in a recent interview with Mumbai Mirror, Shahid vehemently denied the fact.
“Personally, I don’t think it’s a female-oriented film. The female part is extremely strong, just like in Rangoon, so are the male characters. The idea is to participate in great content. It should never be about male or female-driven roles,” he said.
On being asked about his co-stars and whether he has any insecurity, he said, “I have a great part in ‘Padmavati’. I’m never insecure, I’m self-assured. It’s great to work with talented people and my co-stars are actors who’re great at balancing their work.”
Shahid was also recently seen in Karan Johar’s television show ‘Koffee with Karan’ with his wife.
