Gully Boy: Rappers of India give a shout-out to Ranveer Singh starrer

Ranveer Singh will be seen playing the role of a local rapper in Zoya Akhtar's 'Gully Boy'.

Mumbai: The makers of Gully Boy have recently released a trailer announcement video which showcases Ranveer Singh's rap song Asli Hip Hop.

Indian Rappers Vivian Ka Divine, Emiway Bantai and Raaj Jones took to their social media handles and gave a shoutout 'Bohot Sai'.

The teaser showcases the journey of a boy of Mumbai streets as he goes on to become one of India’s most notable rappers bent on introducing Indians to ‘asli rap’—that which talks about the everyday struggle, grit, and determination of the voiceless, the unseen.

The trailer will be released on January 9. It ends with Ranveer saying, “Apna Time Aayega (Our time will come)”.

Gully Boy is Ranveer's second collaboration with Zoya. The first movie they had worked on together was 'Dil Dhadkne Do'.

The film stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead role.

Gully Boy is a story inspired by slum rappers of Dharavi, who is one of the most popular voices to emerge from the Mumbai rap scene. Ranveer Singh who is paired opposite Alia Bhatt for the first time on the big screen is playing the role of a street rapper.

Slated to release on 14th February, Gully Boy is directed by Zoya Akhtar and is produced by Excel Entertainment.
