Ranveer Singh bats for mental health, supports Deepika's 'Live Love Laugh'
Deepika Padukone and Karan Johar have both spoken about their trysts with depression.
Mumbai: Ranveer Singh decided to shed his flamboyance for a noble cause and came out in support of mental health awareness.
The actor took to Instagram to speak about the immediate need to spread awareness on the cons of depression. Rumoured girlfriend Deepika Padukone, who’d famously come out to speak about her own tryst with depression, formed the ‘Live Love Laugh’ foundation, an initiative which the ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ actor opportunely endorsed.
Filmmaker Karan Johar had also spoken candidly about his bout of depression and urged people with symptoms to unabashedly seek help.
Ranveer, who empathised with the condition, wrote, “1 out of every 5 Indians will suffer from depression in their lifetime. Even with all the progress we’ve made in these last few years, there is still a lot of stigma attached to mental health and the treatment of it. This needs to change for our collective well-being. There is a difference between being sad and being depressed. There is hope for both, those who need help and for those who want to give help.
"Let's join hands to promote awareness about mental health along with the Live Love Laugh Foundation as they launch India's first Mental Health Awareness Campaign. Always remember to Live, Love and Laugh.”
We have all seen Ranveer the entertainer. But this conscientious side of the actor is equally heart-warming.
