I am an introvert: Chitrangada Singh
The actress tells confidence doesn't come from just being sexy, and that it is a quiet belief in self.
Recently seen in Bazaar, Chitrangada Singh has mostly been playing oppidan roles, that showcase her as an over-confident woman, but the actress says that reality is otherwise.
“Usually the kind of roles that I portray are that of a seductress. Actually, they are powerful and wide in its interpretation. But I don’t think I have ever been confident enough. I have always been an introvert,” she says.
“Instead, my brother is a complete extrovert. I have never been very confident as a child. I still don’t think I am confident about a lot of things,” she adds.
And according to the actress, merely looking sexy can never define one’s confidence. “It doesn’t come from being sexy. What’s very attractive is your confidence, it is a quiet belief about ourselves. And also a sense of humour,” she smiles.
As doubts hover and until she is passionate about things, the confidence seeps in slowly for the actress who keeps finding doubts even in her performance.
“I will have doubts and I will take time to be sure about anything. I find too many faults in my performance.
I have too many ifs and buts. I never go and watch my scenes instantly on the television sets during the shoot. Also, whenever my films are releasing, I don’t watch them before the release,” she reveals.
