Karan Johar says he is dying to direct Shah Rukh Khan
Karna also said that he was interested in getting Deepika Padukone on board for one of his films.
It has been five long years since fans have seen director Karan Johar and superstar Shah Rukh Khan working together on a film. Bollywood's most loved director-actor duo, who last worked together on 2010's drama 'My Name Is Khan', might just be teaming up again "very soon".
In a Twitter chat, Johar was asked when when is he going to direct SRK next. As we are aware, Johar began his directing career with the Shah Rukh-starrer 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' (1998) and went on to direct him in films like 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham' (2001) and 'Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna' (2006).
“@SameerKidwai: @karanjohar #koffeewithkaran whn r v going to c next @iamsrk movie directed by u ?”very soon...dying to make a film with him

When asked to describe his friendship with the 'Dilwale' star, Johar replied, "Life long." In the same chat, the filmmaker called SRK 'megastar'.
“@nagpur_srk: @karanjohar Tell me about ur friendship with @iamsrk” life long....#KofeewithKaran

Karan is currently filming 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil', starring Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma. When asked about the film, Karan had witty replies. Apart from gushing about his three leading stars, Karan also said his film was not a 'love story' but a 'story about love'.
“@ranikajOne: @karanjohar can u share anything abt ADHM ?” It not a love story...but a story about LOVE
— Karan Johar (@karanjohar) March 5, 2016
“@amitkuy: #koffeewithkaran @karanjohar sir ADHM is similar on story line of kabhi alvida na kehna ?” No my dear! I still have a brain

During the Twitter chat, Karan also dropped hints of directing a film with Deepika Padukone. The actress has never worked in a movie directed by Karan, and it we think it would surely be interesting to see her in one of the director's heartbreaking love stories. Karan also gushed about Deepika's 'Bajirao Mastani', saying it was directed very well.
“@NooraAlNayem: @karanjohar is there a chance of seeing deepika in dharma's next?#koffeewithkaran” yea very soon!!!!

“@haripri38008781: @karanjohar recently for which movie you felt the direction was good...” Bajirao mastani

Deepika is currently in the US working on her debut Hollywood project 'xXx: The Return of Xander Cage'. Can we expect to see Deepika paired opposite SRK once again? Or does Karan Johar have a few tricks up his sleeve?
