Johar began his directing career with the Shah Rukh-starrer 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'.

It has been five long years since fans have seen director Karan Johar and superstar Shah Rukh Khan working together on a film. Bollywood's most loved director-actor duo, who last worked together on 2010's drama 'My Name Is Khan', might just be teaming up again "very soon".

In a Twitter chat, Johar was asked when when is he going to direct SRK next. As we are aware, Johar began his directing career with the Shah Rukh-starrer 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' (1998) and went on to direct him in films like 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham' (2001) and 'Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna' (2006).

When asked to describe his friendship with the 'Dilwale' star, Johar replied, "Life long." In the same chat, the filmmaker called SRK 'megastar'.

Karan is currently filming 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil', starring Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma. When asked about the film, Karan had witty replies. Apart from gushing about his three leading stars, Karan also said his film was not a 'love story' but a 'story about love'.

During the Twitter chat, Karan also dropped hints of directing a film with Deepika Padukone. The actress has never worked in a movie directed by Karan, and it we think it would surely be interesting to see her in one of the director's heartbreaking love stories. Karan also gushed about Deepika's 'Bajirao Mastani', saying it was directed very well.

Deepika is currently in the US working on her debut Hollywood project 'xXx: The Return of Xander Cage'. Can we expect to see Deepika paired opposite SRK once again? Or does Karan Johar have a few tricks up his sleeve?
