Hyderabad: The TRS-affiliated Telangana Boggu Gani Karmika Sangham is poised for a grand victory in the trade union elections in the Singareni Collieries.
Counting of votes started at 8 pm and the result is expected after midnight. Early trends indicated that the TBGKS was emerging the big winner, and TRS leaders and activists began celebrating.
The TBGKS won 77 votes out of 86 polled at Singareni Bhavan in the city, Yellandu by 217 votes and Kothagudem by 580. It was leading in the Manuguru division.
As many as 49,873 of the 52,534 voters (84.93 per cent exercised their ballots). The Sangham was facing a united Opposition candidate. The poll is seen as an indicator of the mood ahead of the general elections as they cover 12 Assembly segments in four Lok Sabha seats spread over six districts.
