KJo drops Shammi Kapoor tribute from ADHM because of messy' Ranbir!

Mumbai: The title track from ‘An evening in Paris’ was acquired from HMV for a huge sum only to be dropped later. Ranbir Kapoor, who is the grand nephew of yesteryear superstar Shammi Kapoor, plays the role of a die-hard Mohammad Rafi and Shammi Kapoor fan in ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’.

Kapoor Jr and Anushka Sharma were supposed to pay homage to the evergreen superstar in ADHM. In fact, the two of them had shot the video of the tribute song in Paris.

But, Karan Johar was not happy with the end result and decided to drop it. Apparently, Ranbir and Anushka were dancing in the video of the song to their own choreography and looked messy. An irked Johar then decided to chop it out of the movie.

DNA reported a source close to the film as saying, “It was meant to be a highlight in the film. Ranbir tilting his hat to his grand uncle. It went all over the place in Paris. It ended up looking like 'Befikre' without the swag. Karan decided to drop it.”
