Box-office: Thor Ragnarok rakes in record moolah, Ittefaq struggling to stay afloat
The clash of the Hollywood titan and Indian whodunnit has been surprisingly one-sided.
Mumbai: 'Avengers: Infinity Wars' is just a 'Black Panther' standalone away, but 'Thor: Ragnarok' is already doing wonders for MCU.
The film, which debuted at the box-office on November 03, has had a phenomenal opening weekend, raking in some seriously impressive moolah.
The Hollywood juggernaut, starring Chris Hemsworth, Cate Blanchett, Tom hiddleston and Mark Ruffalo in the lead roles, has grossed 27.50 crores approximately, at the domestic box-office, according to boxofficeindia(dot)com.
The other release if the week, the Sidharth Malhotra-Sonakshi Sinha-Akshaye Khanna starrer 'Ittefaq,' had relatively lesser taker, considering its promotions and pre-release buzz had not been on the upside.
The film had an approximate weekend gross of 15.05 crore rupees, which is a good 12 crore less than its Hollywood competitor. However, since the film had been mounted on a low budget, and with decent word-of-mouth, the film is expected to sail through.
Diwali release 'Golmaal Again,' at the other end, is cruising towards the coveted 200 crore mark.
