Ileana D’Cruz not ready for love
Ileana D’Cruz opens up about her breakup with Andrew Kneebone and how she is dealing with it.
Ever since actress Ileana D’Cruz made her debut in Bollywood with Anurag Basu’s Barfi, she has been making headlines for both, her work and her long relationship with Australian photographer Andrew Kneebone. The actress has always been open about their relationship, so much so that marriage rumours were doing the rounds. But as fate would have it, the two recently broke up.
Instead of being depressed, Ileana appears stronger. “I think you owe it to yourself to take care of yourself, and the minute I realised that I saw a huge difference; not just mentally, but physically and internally as well. If you are going through bad times, then you have to work on yourself. I can’t rely on people, because you have to rely on yourself,” says Ileana, who confesses that she was depressed and had to see a therapist. “I went to a therapist and she told me to accept the complements. I have accepted myself now and I am doing well,” she shares.
The actress opines that falling in love is fantastic, “but staying in love is a different thing. Having a partner makes you feel calm and secure, but your mental well-being is far more important,” she says, adding that she is not ready for any relationship yet. “I am not ready for love, I am very happy where I am. I am falling in love with myself,” she clarifies.
Ileana finds that her breakup taught her a lot, and she has no hard feelings for her ex. “It is always a learning experience. I never wanted to come out bitter or someone with any animosity. It has left me stronger. Shit happens, but life goes on. The way I dealt with the entire thing comes with respect and love for the other person. I don’t curse or think anything bad about him. I am in a good place and I wish all good things for him,” says the Rustom actress in conclusion.
