Alia Bhatt-Ranbir Kapoor clash averted
Earlier, the makers of Amitabh Bachchan starrer Chehre had moved the film from clashing with the Abhishek Bachchan starrer Ludo.
After the Aamir Khan-Akshay Kumar clash as well as the Abhishek Bachchan-Amitabh Bachchan clash got averted, the releases of the films Shamshera and RRR will not happen at the same time, therefore preventing a clash between Alia Bhatt and her beau Ranbir Kapoor as well.
Earlier, the makers of Amitabh Bachchan starrer Chehre had moved the film from clashing with the Abhishek Bachchan starrer Ludo. Following that, Aamir Khan made the all-important phone call to shift the release date of Akshay Kumar starrer Bachchan Pandey. The film for producer Sajid Nadiadwala was to release opposite Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha on Christmas.
“The release date of the Ranbir Kapoor-Sanjay Dutt starrer Shamshera was also announced long ago. The release of RRR, which also stars Alia Bhatt, was always being looked at from a south perspective and not a Bollywood one which is why the release date was on July 30 as opposed to Shamshera’s July 31. But now RRR has gone to the second week of January, which is again an interesting date. This year, Ajay Devgn’s film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior released on the second Friday and went on to be a whopping hit. Ajay also features in RRR and hence, it is a good date for Ajay fans as well,” says a trade source. Interestingly last year, the release in the second week of January – Uri: The Surgical Strike went on to gross a big number and became one of the biggest blockbusters of all-time in Hindi cinema. So, have filmmakers found a new profitable release date in January
