Ali who started off with theatre, recently acted in a play Crab. “I am revisiting this play after nine years. It’s overwhelming to see the entire cast come together. I have had a busy schedule for the past seven months and I feel glad to have set aside my time for this play,” he gushes.
Talking about his upcoming project Fukrey 2, Ali says, “After the first part, I have become great friends with the other Fukrey actors, and we always find time for each other. For Fukrey 2, we hung out together for two months and it was mad and crazy. You can see an action-packed Fukrey this time.”
Ali is also doing a Hollywood project titled Victoria and Abdul, alongside legendary actress, Judy Dench. “I got selected for my part in August and I have completed the movie. It is a biopic and I play the role of Abdul Karim. For the first time, audiences would see a film of this kind. The movie will release in September.”
Ali will also be seen in the upcoming Hindi movie Tadka, which is directed by Prakash Raj. Elaborating about the movie, he says, “Majority of the portion is completed and we still have few portions left. The movie is an adaption of Malayalam film Salt N Pepper.”
Ali feels that getting Hollywood offers, comes with a great responsibility. “We are representing our country and it’s great to see Hollywood opening up to Indian talents as well. I think it’s time that an Indian actor would carry an entire film on his shoulder,” he concludes.
