Shah Rukh Khan takes a break from work, cancels all shoots
Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan reportedly wants to focus on his son Aryan Khan's case and help him come out of this mess
Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has decided to take a break from work. He has requested all his producers to give him some time, vis-à-vis ongoing projects.
Shah Rukh’s son Aryan has been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau and is being interrogated in connection with a drugs case. He has been in custody now for about five days, and King Khan will presumably focus on seeing that his son is released at the earliest. Sources say he doesn’t want visitors nor fans to show up at Mannat, in support. He wants to be alone.
The actor has two films on the floors – one tentatively titled Lion under Atlee’s direction, being shot at the BD Petit General Hospital, and Pathan, which is being filmed in Spain. Shah Rukh hasn’t attended the shooting at BD Hospital, and the makers have used his body double, Prashant Walde, to can some scenes.
Sources say he was to fly to Madrid where a huge dance sequence involving almost 300 people, including 150 dancers, apart from Deepika Padukone, was to be shot. “Some German race drivers had also been called in to film a race sequence. SRK will need to spend a good three weeks in Spain for this schedule, and it is not clear when he will be able to shoot for the film,” the sources add.
Before leaving Spain, the actor was also to collaborate physically with Ajay Devgn for the first time for a pan masala commercial — a brand that both of them endorse and had shot separately for during the lockdown. “SRK has expressed his inability to shoot the ad now. They makers have shot only with Ajay Devgn. The rest of the ad will be shot later at SRK’s convenience,” the sources say.
Besides his film and ad commitments, the actor’s cricket team — the Kolkata Knight Riders — is playing in the IPL tournament in the Middle East, and that would also have been the focus of his attention at any other time.
