My friend manipulated me into rejecting Fukrey the first time: Richa Chadha
Richa Chadha has carved a niche for herself in Bollywood through an excellent choice of roles.
Mumbai: Richa Chadha debuted with a bit of comedy role in the comedy flick ‘Oye Lucky! Lucky! Oye’. However she also did a few roles in the supporting category. In ‘Gang Of Wasseypur’ wherein Richa played a mother to an elderly person Nawazuddin Siddiqui, though that role was pretty mature for her age.
But why would she reject 'Fukrey' in the first place?
"I had played an older woman compared to my age. One of my actor friends misguided me. He played a game; he told me to not agree to play this character as this is on the same lines as GoW. You will be shown as an older character. Therefore I confided in him and refused to be a part even without reading it. Perhaps some insecure actors misguide you. Also, he was wishing to get his girlfriend roped in the Excel Production house. But later on when I read the script I was sold bound by the intriguing storyline and agreed to do the character. Now I share a great association with Excel Entertainment and I am again in Fukrey Returns," she revealed.
Speaking on nepotism, Richa said, "Look. I would be wrong if I say tomorrow if I have a kid he/she would like to work in this field of glitz and glamour and I will not recommend him/her or support him/her. Having said that, on recommendation basis, one can get the first chance, easily. Undeniably, getting work on talent takes some time. It is not a cakewalk when you enter this industry totally unknown. Having said that if you are sincere, talented and hard working, meet the right people and your talent is noticed, getting work becomes easy. This happens in any industry."
‘Fukrey Returns’ releases on December 08.
