The filming of Malala Yousafzai's biopic to resume from September

Earlier, the shoot of the film was deferred due to the strained circumstance in Kashmir.

The makers have planned a grand event on August 23 where they will introduce the leading lady.

Mumbai: The shooting of much awaited biopic ‘Gul Makai’ based on Pakistani activist & Nobel Peace laureate Malala Yousafzai will begin from September. Producer Anand Kumar is happy with the first edits and is excited to resume the shoot of the film.

Anand Kumar credits the director Amjad Khan for capturing the great visuals and bringing out the core reality on silver screen. They have already shot the war scenes in extreme locations as it demonstrates the untouched subjects which had a major effect on Malala Yousafzai.

Earlier, the shoot of the film was deferred due to the strained circumstance in Kashmir. As the conditions are brought to normal in J&K, the crew will start the shoot amidst tight security.

“The biopic is 50% finished and I am super curious to bring it to silver screen soon. We have already shot the war sequences and other important schedules. Now we will be shooting with our ‘Malala’ in Kashmir,” said Anand over telephone from Mumbai.

The makers have planned a grand event on August 23 where they will introduce the leading lady, who will be seen playing Malala. Directed by Amjad Khan, the film is jointly produced by Vijay Jaju, Shakti Bhatnagar, Sanjay Singhla.

Malala's biopic will demonstrate distinctive shades and the unforgiving reality and the extreme circumstances which she experienced while raising her voice against the girl education.

She was shot on her school bus in Swat at the age of 15 after she was unmasked as the writer of an anonymous blog slating Taliban plans to deny girls education.
