Reportedly his role was removed due to the ruckus over Pakistani actors in the wake of Uri terror attack.
Mumbai: Pakistani actor Fawad Khan was never a part of ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story,’ its makers said today, dismissing reports that his role was chopped off from the biopic.
There were reports that the Pakistani heartthrob was playing Indian cricketer Virat Kohli in the movie and his role was removed just before the release of the movie due to the ruckus over Pakistani actors in the wake of Uri terror attack.
Apparently he had also shot for his role which was supposed to be a surprise for the viewers, the reports had it.
"Fawad Khan was never part of the film 'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story'. Even when we were casting the movie, he was not in the consideration set. Dhoni is an extremely realistic biopic and we have been true to that even in our casting," Fox Star Studios spokesman said in a statement here.
The film, which released last week, stars Sushant Singh Rajput in the titular role besides Kiara Advani, Disha Patani, Anupam Kher and Bhumika Chawla.
