Mumbai: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has filed a complaint with the cyber crime cell of the Mumbai Police, saying that a video is being circulated in which his statements are being made to look like he is commenting on the ongoing Tanushree Dutta and Nana Patekar row. The morphed video, which was uploaded on YouTube, went viral. Police officers and Akshay’s spokesperson confirmed the actor submitted a complaint on Friday at the police station at Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC).

Kumar's complaint said that he has not made any such statements and that the video is edited. A senior police official said that the YouTube channel which had uploaded the video removed it. No complaint has been registered as of now. An officer told Hindustan Times, "The narrative of the video was edited in a way that it looks like Kumar is expressing his views on the Dutta-Patekar controversy, which he never did. We tried to search the video on YouTube, but could not get it; probably it was blocked or removed. We have asked him to produce a copy of the video. The inquiry is going on." The police cited that the 'PadMan' actor noticed that the video could hamper his reputation in public.

According to Kumar’s complaint the video was of his recent media interaction, when he was asked about another actor. His complaint alleges that the answer was edited in a way that it appears as though he is speaking against Tanushree.

Akshay has recently wrapped up Rajasthan schedule of his upcoming film Housefull 4, which interestingly also stars Nana Patekar.

Meanwhile, Akshay's wife Twinkle Khanna had come out in support of Tanushree Dutta after she accused Nana of sexual misconduct on the sets of the 2008 film Horn Ok Pleassss. Calling her a "brave woman", Twinkle hailed Tanushree's courage to speak up about her nightmarish experience with Nana.

"A working environment without harassment and intimidation is a fundamental right and by speaking up this brave woman helps pave the way towards that very goal for all of us," the actress-turned-author had written on Twitter.
