Sara Ali Khan could make her debut opposite Ranveer in Zoya's Gully Boy
Saif Ali Khan's eldest daughter has been associated with 'Student of the Year 2,' previously.
Mumbai: Saif Ali Khan’s little princess Sara Ali Khan has had her name associated to almost every upcoming project but they would all ultimately get squashed. But seems like the highly fashionable star kid might finally have bagged her maiden film.
Zoya Akhtar, who last helmed the highly appreciated ‘Dil Dhadakne Do,’ has been working on her coming-of-age flick, ‘Gully Boy,’ set to headline Ranveer Singh, might have found her leading lady in Sara, as per reports.
The 23-year-old has previously been associated with Puneet Malhotra’s Tiger Shroff starrer ‘Student of the Year,’ as well the official ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ remake opposite Shahid Kapoor’s younger brother Ishan Khattar. But, mother amrita Singh had squashed all rumours, earlier.
“Both the producers, Farhan (Akhtar) and Ritesh (Sidhwani), along with Zoya, have been in talks with Sara for a while now and they are almost in the final stages of discussion. Gully Boys could well be her launching pad,” Mumbai Mirror quoted a source as saying.
The film, which is majorly inspired from the lives of Mumbai rappers Divine and Naezy, had writers Reema Kagti and Zoya hang out with the two for the longest time. The film has also been inspired from the politically incorrect rapping careers of the likes of Muck Fodi (Ashwini Mishra), Kolkata-based Vik Sen aka Feyago, Bangalore-based Brodha V aka Vighnesh Shivanand, BK from Tripura.
With Ranveer at the top of his game and Zoya having carved herself a niche, this is the absolute perfect launchpad for the star kid.
