Never has Varun Dhawan been so aggressive in his speed for doing films. The actor already has two films in different stages of production —Street Dancer 3D and Coolie No 1, and now, he is ready to start one very soon with Shashank Khaitan. There is also a fourth one with Sriram Raghavan that will go on the floors somewhere mid next year.

Moreover, there are also some films that the actor has not given his nod to either because of the time constraint or due to the unfathomable nature of scripts. “He is signing films quickly because he has learnt to assess scripts much better now. With a filmmaker father and brother in tow, he has learned his lessons quickly, especially when he gave flops. When things go right, you don’t really assess why, but when you give flops, it helps you understand where you can go wrong. And now, he has increased his speed of doing films,” analyses our source.

Varun made his debut with Student of the Year in 2012, and took two years to be back on the screen with his second film Main Tera Hero. Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania came the same year in 2014. He continued with Badlapur and ABCD 2 as a lead actor and second lead in Dilwale with Shah Rukh Khan in 2015. Dishoom came the next year, followed by Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Judwaa 2 in 2017, which turned his fortunes around into a big star. Last year pegged his stardom back when he chose offbeat subjects like Sui Dhaaga and October but this year’s Kalank drew a blank.
