Half Girlfriend becomes first Indian film to shoot inside United Nations!

Mumbai: The makers of the film ‘Half Girlfriend’, which is an adaptation of a novel of the same name, re-launched the book on May 8, with Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor on its cover.

At the book launch, along with author and producer Chetan Bhagat, present were Arjun Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and ‘Half Girlfriend’ director Mohit Suri.

The film revolves around a guy from Bihar, who wants to selflessly serve for the betterment of his village, at least to provide the schools and colleges with basic hygiene facilities.

At the event, Mohit revealed that ‘Half Girlfriend’ is the first Indian film to be shot in the United Nations for free of cost.

The director said, “When we had gone to New York and were hunting for locations to shoot, I randomly uttered if UN could give us the permission to shoot for our film, and when I went to them and said, ‘The character in my film works in United Nations with the Bill Gates Foundation to earn money to make bathrooms in his college in village, and this is the fundamental reason why girls don’t go to schools in rural areas,’ and that is why we got that location free.”

“We got to shoot in such a place where most of the people in the world do not enter and not even get security clearance,” concluded the ‘Aashiqui 2’ director.

‘Half Girlfriend’ is slated to release on May 19.
