My father got me kicked out of Dhobi Ghat: Varun Dhawan on being called privileged'
The actor revealed why his director father David Dhawan got him kicked out of Kiran Rao's directorial debut.
Mumbai: Young and energetic actor Varun Dhawan is completely engrossed in the shooting process of his upcoming action- comedy ‘Judwaa 2’. Directed by his father David Dhawan, the film is the sequel of 1997 blockbuster ‘Judwaa’ starring Karishma Kapoor and Salman Khan.

In a recent interview, someone took a subtle dig at him by calling him the ‘privileged’ one. Miffed, the actor replied by saying that his own father got him kicked out of 2011- released ‘Dhobi Ghat’ because Dhawan Sr felt that Varun was not ready for the big screen yet. Varun also mentioned how he had auditioned for the movie without anyone knowing about it.

Varun, who was last seen in Dharma Productions’ hit flick ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya’, recently announced a film with Anushka Sharma, titled ‘Sui Dhaaga- Made in India’ under the Yash Raj Films banner.
In 'Judwaa 2', Varun plays the role of twin brothers Raja and Prem. The film also stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu.
