Akshay Kumar-Bhushan patch up
After Akshay walked out of Mogul, the actor-producer duo has reunited for a remake of a Kannada film.
There are no permanent enemies in Bollywood, where work precedes ego. We told you a few days ago about Akshay Kumar working with his erstwhile body double Ranjit Tiwari in a film directed by the latter and produced by Nikhil Advani and Vashu Bhagnani. The latest is that Bhushan Kumar has stepped in as one of the producers of the film.
While an official statement on the same is yet to be out, Akshay, after walking off from Mogul, has decided to collaborate with Bhushan Kumar of T Series for this new project.
Their respective films Mission Mangal and Batla House clashed at the box office on Independence Day this year, but the actor and the producer are coming together for a big announcement in the days to come.
Bhushan had confirmed in a media interaction a while ago that he was in talks for another Akshay Kumar film, and this seems to be the one. “We earlier thought that they would come together for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, but this is the project that they are uniting for. Bhushan also had differences with Mahesh Bhatt, but they came together for a few films like Aashiqui 2 after Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt had moved on to the Tauranis to make films like Raaz etc. Pooja Bhatt too had a fallout with Bhushan after the two-theatre release of the Himesh Reshammiya starrer Kajra Re, but came back for Jism 2 and other films,” says an industry source.
Meanwhile, we are told that the said film is an official remake of the Kannada hit film Bell Bottom: Adventures of Detective Divakar. The film is about a constable who loves watching detective films and reading detective novels. The original retro themes film starred Rishabh Shetty and Harripriya in lead roles. The original film was directed by Jayatheertha.
