Jackie is like a kid on the sets: Amyra Dastur
The actress opens up about acting alongside Jackie Chan and how her previous film's stunts helped her bag the role.
Amyra Dastur who was last seen in Mr. X believes she gained from it despite the film’s dismal performance at the box office. According to Amyra, it is her stunts in the film that helped her bag Jackie Chan’s Kung Fu Yoga.
“I guess Mr. X gave me a lot of appreciation since I did action in the film. I believe I bagged Kung Fu Yoga because I could fight and hold guns,” she says with a laugh.
On a serious note she continues, “Ileana Dcruz was finalised for the role and had even shot a few scenes but it didn’t work out. Then the role came to me. I dropped two Telugu films for it, but it’s worth it.”
How was it working with the legendary Jackie Chan? “Jackie is like a kid on the sets. He used to stand and observe me when he wasn’t shooting. He used to correct me if I did a few acts wrong,” says Amyra.
Like any Jackie Chan film, this one has action too — lots of it. “If you see my hands right now, they are the ugliest of all with cuts all over. I have done some amazing action sequences, which required harnesses,” she informs.
Amyra hopes to do a lot more work in Hollywood but hates being compared to others pursuing the same.
