Mumbai: A lot has been speculated about Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s marriage. The latest reports suggest that they might get married in June for a destination wedding.

Ranveer was at an interview with India Today, where the actor opened up on his feelings about marriage.

He responded by saying, “Really, I don’t know where that’s coming from. But, yes of course, these are things I think about. I try and create a work and life balance so as much as I consumed by my work at the moment, these things are on my mind. But nothing decisive as of yet.”

Ask Ranveer if he will get married in the near future and he said, “Currently, I am a little bit consumed with my work. I have got a line up of films; one that I am currently shooting. I am currently in the thick of ‘Gully Boy’, after that I have got ‘Simmba’, with Rohit Shetty and then 1983 World Cup. Right now, I am just consumed by these exciting opportunities.”

Ranveer and Deepika (along with Shahid Kapoor) have made a mark with their recent release ‘Padmaavat’. But the movie had to face a lot of difficulties right from shooting for it to waiting for it to release in theatres. A group named the Karni Sena vandalized the shooting of the film thrice, and did not keep quiet, which led to delay in the movie’s release. Yes, ‘Padmaavat’ finally released on Republic Day, and superstar Akshay Kumar, in spite of booking the date for ‘Padman’ much in advance, gave way to the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial for a solo release.

When Ranveer was asked about his honest reaction on the whole controversy around ‘Padmaavat’, he responded, “I was filled with pain. There is no doubt about that and I had a very strong urge to act out, speak out but I was given strict instructions not to and I had to respect that, because I was not at the forefront of this fight. It is the prerogative of the producers, of the director. If they were explicitly telling me that me saying something or doing something is going to complicate things further. I don’t want to complicate the lives; I want to make the lives simpler and do my bit to see that the things go off smoothly and this film gets made and it gets released.”

“So, if this is what they are asking me to do, I have to abide by that. But yeah, of course I was enraged, absolutely enraged. But what could I do? I could choose to act out destructively, but I chose not to. I channelled it and I put all of it into my performance. And whatever you may feel after seeing this performance is born out of having felt a certain way,” added the actor.

When asked how Ranveer felt and behaved around Deepika and Bhansali during that time, he said, “We were there for each other and Mr. Bhansali took his time to come out of what he went through understandably. But, hats off to the guy! When he came back, the kind of vigor he came back with on the film’s set, he was a like a man possessed. The way it happened and then there was a large gap where the film was not being shot. There was all this anxiety of what’s going to happen and that period was difficult for me as well. Because I don’t know what was happening. And I am feeling all of these things and I am being told to shut up. So, it was difficult, but we went on the set to complete the film.”

Lots of news reports stated that a cold war was brewing between Ranveer and Shahid on the sets. The two slyly took a dig at each other too on many occasions.

While Ranveer Singh said he would’ve done Shahid Kapoor starrer ‘Kaminey’ better than the actor, Shahid recently claimed that he wanted to play Khilji and would’ve done it differently.

Ranveer was asked about his statement on ‘Kaminey’, for which he said, “I think in my first year I was very arrogant. In retrospect, that is not something I should have said. I regret saying that (I could have done ‘Kaminey’ better than Shahid Kapoor).”

On Shahid’s comment on playing Khilji differently, Ranveer added, “What’s wrong in saying that, it’s stating the obvious. Every actor brings something unique to the table, so every actor will approach a part in his or her own way.”
