Rohit Shetty brutally trolled for his sexist remark
Fans of Katrina Kaif troll the director for his ‘irreverant’ comment about the leading lady of his film
A Rohit-Shetty interview to promote his latest film Sooryavanshi has gotten the filmmaker into deep trouble.
In the interview, when Rohit was asked which star he focuses on while looking at the monitor during the filming, he replied, “All three, obviously. You have to watch the take thrice. The scene with the blast has Katrina (Kaif) too. If you look closely, she is blinking (during the scene). After the fourth take, she came to me and asked, ‘Can we take one more?’ And I said, ‘Katrina, I will tell you honestly; no one is going to look at you.’ She got so wild. She said, ‘How could you tell me this?’ and I said, ‘Three guys are walking with blasts happening behind; nobody will notice you.’ And I kept that shot. In the promo, she blinks while walking. But kaun dekhega? [But who’s watching?].”
Naturally, his statement riled up Katrina’s fans and they started trolling him with, ‘Shame On You Rohit Shetty’ across Twitter.
Trying to douse the damage, soon, Rohit’s team made frantic calls and had the offending answer, along with its question, removed from the website that had published the interview. By then, however, a multitude of fans had already taken screenshots, trolling Rohit for his irreverence.
Ironically, however, just a few days ago—at the trailer launch of the very film—Katrina Kaif had been all praise for Rohit.
“We have all seen the incredible work he (Rohit) has done in the trailer of the film. Rohit Sir is one of the really, really most incredible human beings that I have worked with and it has been an absolute pleasure working with you, Sir,” Katrina had said at the event.
